Do you enjoy wearing perfume (or cologne)? Do you have a signature scent, or do you prefer to change up your scents to match your mood and the occasion?

I enjoy wearing perfume. I even wear lighter scents just to hang around at home. Just like the scents I use around my home in the form of candles, plugins, sprays and/or diffusers, I find the personal fragrances can also effect my mood. Light scents make me happy.

I enjoy changing my scents. When I go to work I tend to use lighter fragrances where as a date night with my husband I might opt for something a bit deeper and richer.

I also find that I appreciate scents more if I don’t use them all the time.

I had the opportunity to try out some a-m-a-z-i-n-g scents from the brand Váhy. Váhy is an Australian brand that is now available for U.S. customers.

Made in Australia, and now available in the US, Váhy prides itself on being “genuinely green” with uncompromising ingredients, “no nasties” and being manufactured sustainably. By “nasties” I am referring to the tremendous amount of chemicals often used in perfumes.

Váhy sent me one of their sampler scents to review.

I received to review one of the brand’s “encounter” sets. There are two options – “Dawn” of “Dusk.” Each set comes with spray vials of six (6) different scents from the brand. This is a great way to sample the various available scents to find your favorites. It’s also a great way to “try before you buy,” meaning try out the scents before committing to purchasing a larger bottle. That makes perfect sense to me.

Oh…my…goodness! These scents are out of this world!

I couldn’t wait to try them out (all of them). The first day I received the set I sprayed a little bit all over my body (wrist, top of hand, forearm, bicep) just to get a sense (no pun intended) of all of them. I even had my husband sniff them to see if he had an initial favorite. I didn’t surprise me that he was able to pick out the “Ember Haze” scent from the group. My husband LOVE vanilla. He loves when I use any vanilla products around the home, and he even has vanilla air fresheners in his car.

I was surprised that he couldn’t pick up the vanilla in the “Tarkine” scent.

I cannot say that I have a absolute favorite because I am enjoying all of these scents. If I had to pick just one, I would probably pick “Midnight Ruze.”

That fun thing about this set is that you can layer the scents, meaning you can actually combine scents and create your own fragrance. The scents all compliment each other. I have done this one several occasions and I DON’T think it’s “overkill” at all, nor has anyone complained about it. Trust me, if I smelt too over powering my husband and daughter would speak up and tell me (strong scents also trigger my husband’s migraines).

I should write down the combinations that I used because there were a few times where I created such magnificent scents and I wish I could recrate them, but I don’t remember the scents I used. I keep all the scents in the original packaging, and I just grab one or two and spritz them on, without looking at the scents that I grabbed.

A little goes a long way too, so the vials will last a long time. Plus the scents lasts a long time too, which I appreciate.

Their perfumes are a bit on the pricey side, but the sets are very affordable. I think I will purchase the “Dusk” set one day to try out those scents. If they are anything like the ones in the “Dawn” set, I know I will love them too.
