Trick or treat?

The scariest thing about Halloween isn’t the dress-ups, the masses of plastic-wrapped confectionery, wasted pumpkins and single-use decorations (although none are particularly good) but the tricks that so many brands are playing on us. Greenwashing—when brands make misleading claims about their sustainability initiatives—is something that I am all too familiar with but still get caught up in. Take your time, do your research and ask lots of questions. If you do get caught in a greenwashing boobie trap (don’t worry, it happens to the best of us) just get back on the horse and make a better purchase next time.
